This programme is a Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) which provides the opportunity for progression to a number of degrees at UWS and other universities with a SWAP agreement. The course is challenging and considerable study will be required out with college time.

Course Content

There are 3 Maths units at SCQF level 5, and units at SCQF 6 include English, Psychology, Sociology, Values, IT.

Assessments

There are written essays, individual and group presentations, closed book short answer responses and online tests. You must pass all of these, receive a good reference and have 100% attendance to be considered by your chosen university.

Progression

Successful completion of the programme may provide articulation to a degree at UWS or the opportunity to apply for the Access to Higher Education programme or the HNC in Social Services or HNC Care and Admin.

Career Prospects

Learners may want to go ahead and study HNC Social Services or HNC Care and Administrative Practice, the likelihood is that you will want to go to university to study a variety of subjects such as psychology, sociology, social work, journalism and many more choices.
