Creative direction draws on a myriad of visual cultural stimuli, including photography, film, styling, and PR in order to promote fashion in various industry sectors including the media, retail, and branding to name a few. On this course, you'll have the opportunity to: * Use our resources and our unique art and design cross-disciplinary environment to personalise your learning and develop a wide range of skills to help you become a confident player in the exciting fashion industry. * Share first year modules with students on other fashion industry courses, enabling you to develop a broad understanding of the industry and the opportunities within it before focusing on your specialism. You'll work across media on projects that include exhibitions, trend forecasting, publications, and creative development. The academic expertise here at Huddersfield will support you as you develop your skills in styling, creative concept development, photography, fashion film, and graphic design. The role of a creative director is to define and develop the aesthetic of fashion, ranging from store visual merchandising, advertising and image-making, to creative and digital content and customer communications. Fashion Creative Direction BA(Hons) gives you the skills and knowledge to develop your creativity and expertise within a commercial framework that directly reflects current fashion industry practice. I couldn’t recommend this course more highly to people who know they want to work in fashion but are not entirely sure in which area. The unique diversity of the course allows you to build experience in multiple areas whilst defining your area of speciality. Additional Costs: You will need to cover the cost of printing and presenting your work during the course, as well as supply your own materials. These include sketchpads, notebooks and props for photography. There is no limit on the amount you may wish to spend, however as a guide the approximate cost of these items in recent years has been ￡140 in the first year, ￡105 in the second year and ￡260 in the final year.
